Georgia's growing quickly!

Just a quick post before I run out of the house.

Georgia she is now 7 weeks old and growing like a weed. She hasn't been weighed lately but I would guess she is about 10 lbs now. My Grandma just loves her to bits, and calls her "Little Dolly Dimples", it's really cute.

Here is a picture of us a couple weeks ago.

I have realized the I have not posted any pictures of her Nursery, so when I return I will show you every baby girls dream nursery.

State of Emergency

You ask and you shall receive... I told everyone to stop wishing for rain to wash away our snow... but sure enough here comes the rain... more rain, more rain, and more rain!!! Of course I was joking at the time telling everyone to stop wishing for snow, only because I love the snow, but have never guessed that it would turn out like this.

So far this winter has made an everlasting impact for some. First we had 2 years of our regular snow fall within 2 weeks, and to follow now rising temperatures, melting snow, and 125mm of rain. The result flooding and lots of it. Luckily the rain has stoped now but now without damage.

The City I live in has been placed under a State of Emergency. This morning I took some pictures (while driving, forgive the quality) on the way into my office to show you what I saw (and took a couple more from tonight’s News).

If your not affected by the rain, hopefully you are not one who's home sustained damage from the snow. My office has have seen a record number of claims in the last 3 days. The culprit accumulation of snow with the weight of rain, resulting in......

I drove quickly around the neighbourhood of my office to survey the damage I saw 40+ homes with damage.

We are one of the lucky ones, who were not adversely affected by the weather, but if you are not so lucky you are in my prayers.

December Birthdays

Birthdays, Birthdays, Birthdays!!! In our family we have ton of Birthdays in December, and it keeps our schedules very busy.

~ David; Cousin
~ Steve; Brother In-Law
~ Derek ; 2nd Cousin
~ My Dad
~ Grant; Cousin
~ Randy; Uncle
(Uncle Randy's is on the same day as Grant's his Son)
~Gary; Uncle
~Larry; Uncle

My Birthday is on the 27th,
and last but not least, the most recent addition, Georgia on the 9th of December.

I don't make a big deal out of my birthday, in fact I think that this was my last year of counting. Ha Ha Ha (I only wish!). But normally my Birthday festivities include dinner with family, and a night out with my good friends. A night out for us has changed alot over the years, I couldn't even tell you the last time that I was in a "Club", or had more than 2 drinks in a evening (including this New Years, I had Virgin Punch, any alcohol is few and far between for me), but those were things that we all enjoyed at one time when we were younger.

This year my long long time girl friends (and our Guys) enjoyed dinner, and then a game of Laser Tag. You heard me Laser Tag, we have never done that before, it was good fun. If you haven't tried you should, it's a good laugh and a workout at the same time! In the past we have also gone Go Karting, twice, and Night Bowling with glow in the dark pins and balls.

Here is a picture from my birthday of me and My Girls (Laura, Me, Jenica, Kathy, Brooke and of course Georgia)

Spending time with my Girl Friends is enough of a gift but they also got me wonderful presents... Perfume, Gift Cards, Card making supplies, and Clothes. To top off the evening my wonderful Husband also got me this Diamond Gucci Watch!!

Tomorrow is my Mom's Birthday, so we will be having Dinner this weekend to celebrate both of our Birthdays, and also as a send off to my parents before they leave on Sunday to spend a bit of Winter in Arizona, lucky bums!

Christmas in Our House

I hope everyone enjoyed their Christmas because I enjoyed mine!! Of course Christmas (and the whole month of December) is a very busy time for our family. But this year we did things a bit different, but in a good way. Christmas morning we enjoyed together (just Rich & I, oh and of course our puppy Chloe) opening presents at our house. Oh my was I spoiled, new Angel perfume, Coach Wallet & Umbrella, and a new Camera. Wowsers!! Chloe was spoiled too, with a new Coach leash from Dayton & Kenna (our friends kids).

(Click picture to enlarge)

In the afternoon we went to visit Richards Family and bring presents to our Nephews. And because we had a WHITE CHRISTMAS for the first time in as long as I can remember, so we got to watch Jaden play in the snow.

The big change this year was not going to my parents Lake House in the morning and spending the day there. Instead we enjoyed Christmas Dinner and THEN opened presents. It was very different but it was quite enjoyable, and wouldn't mind this schedule every year!

New Years 2009

Wow 2008 is almost over and in less than 6 hours we will be ringing in a New Year. Right now I’m watching The News and they have showed clips of the New Years Celebrations in Australia, Tokyo, and Korea. I know that our celebration will not be a grand as those, but I will have just as much fun.

Our plans tonight are to celebrate the coming of 2009 "Fondue" style at my Cousin’s David & Lana’s house, and maybe have a celebratory drink, and enjoy some fireworks.

As for resolutions, are you making one or not? Personally I know that I will not follow through with a New Years resolution, just for the sake of a New Year, so I don’t even bother. I wish I were the type that made resolutions then followed through with them, because I’m sure my list would be very long, but instead I plan things. I’m a planner, and so I follow through with plans that I make. So why don’t I plan to make a resolution, haha, because there is too much pressure. What about you? Are you the type to make resolution? What is yours?

Anyways I better get going, but I will be back with pictures of Christmas, and Birthday.

Wishing you all the best in 2009!!

Christmas Open House

Shawna a friend of mine from High School, (whom I haven’t seen in ages) has posted a great idea on her Blog to host a Christmas Open House via the internet so I thought I would join in on the fun.

If this is your first visit to my Blog Welcome! If not then this is probably your first peek at our Christmas Decorations this year.

Outside our House;

I decorate in what I consider the Classic Christmas colours Red, Gold, White, & Green. Our Tree has the usual garland, balls and ribbon.

For years now (I think since I moved out of my Parents house) my Dad has given me a Christmas Ornament each year. All of these ornaments also adorn the Christmas Tree.

Well I hope you enjoyed our house. Feel free to leave me a comment and pop back into my Blog anytime.
Merry Christmas from my Family to Yours!

Brooke's Baby Shower

Last Sunday was Brooke's Baby Shower, it was a great day and time had by all. There was great food, great company, and great joy in the anticipation of the arrival of Georgia. Oh and might I add that Georgia got spoiled, spoiled, spoiled!

The day went off almost without a hitch, unfortunately it wasn’t until after the shower that we realized that the camera had a bit of double vision, and it seems to mess up a bunch of our pictures. (If anyone know how fix this problem, please let me know!!)

Stay tuned to see pictures of the Nursery!! SO CUTE!!

Canucks

I've been extremely busy planning Brookes Baby Shower, which was on Sunday. It was a hugh success, and will be posting pictures (as soon as I get them in order).

Until then I just wanted to post a couple pictures from our Date Night last night! We went to go see the Canucks play Colorado. Unfortunately we lost, but it was a very eventful game and it ended with a score of 2-1 in an overtime shoot-out. Either way it was a great night, and we enjoyed every minute of it. Well except for the Vancouver traffic!!!!!

Halloween Weekend

Friday was Halloween. We passed out candy to the cutest little kids. Some of the little ones were scared of our Screaming Pumpkin Wreath, but everyone loved Chloe (of course she was a Flower again). Unfortunately we only got about 125 Trick or Treaters. Oh who am I kidding we got precisely 136, yes I count, I count every year (I have way too much time on my hands). Unfortunately I don't keep my numbers each year to compare, but I know that we didn't get as much as last year. Resulting in boxes of candy leftover!! No good, cause I know that I'm going to be overindulging.

After the Trick or Treaters we went for a little Movie Date, got home late and slept in on Saturday. The rest of our weekend was occupied by checking in on our a Rental property, visiting with old Neighbours, shopping at Pier 1, Laundry, and watching the Canucks Game with friends.

This week is going to be very busy, Brookes Baby Shower is this Sunday, so I have a lot of finishing up to do.

Happy Birthday

Just wanted to wish my Cousin Charmaine a Happy Birthday. Today she is turning 13!! Yesterday we celebrated at her house, and had a great time visiting with Family we haven't see in quite a while.

(Charmaine; on the right with her Friends, at their Grade 7 Grad a few months back)

Also yesterday my friend Kathy's Daughter turned 8 years old. Happy Birthday Mikayla, hope you have a fun time at your Birthday party with your friends tomorrow.

(Mikayla I'm pretty sure that this was going to be our "good", picture but some how I ended up with Bunny Ears? hummm!)

For the longest time, these two were the only young kids, but time is flying and you both are growing up SO FAST!! Love you both!

Camping, Thanksgiving, Vote for Chloe

This weekend was jam packed with busyness. On Friday we went camping at Chilliwack Lake, our camping was cut short, but it wasn't without excitement. The campsite had Halloween in the Park. They had Pumpkin carving, games, Trick-Or-Treating, and a bon-fire planned for the kids. Our friends children had a great had a great time.

I dressed Chloe up in her Flower Costume, if you ask me she was the best dressed Dog. Well there wasn't a Costume Contest, but if there was she would have won. (by default, as nobody else dressed up their Dog's, shhh we just won't tell her that!)

Monday we had Thanksgiving Dinner at Brooke & Theo's House. It was a full house, with great company, and lots delicious food.

Look at my sister's cute baby bump. I hope that when I have 7 weeks to go before popping that I also look this beautiful! You look great Brooke!!

I came across a Pet Costume Contest on Good Housekeeping Website. So I thought it would be fun to enter Chloe's picture. Click on the link below and Vote for Chloe

I know I said I would be back with more about camping… but I’ve been too busy with planning Brooke’s Baby Shower to get my pictures in order. So hopefully I will get that done soon… maybe tonight!!! Be back shortly…

Babies!!

I received a phone call last night from my Cousin Lana (well Cousin In-Law, but who’s counting) to tell me that her and David (my actual Cousin) are expecting a baby!!! I’m so very excited. She lived (up until a couple weeks ago) 3 doors down the road, but right now they are waiting for their new house to be built. They will still be in our neighbourhood, but just on the other side.

Here is a picture of them at their Wedding in July 2006
I’m so happy for you both. Congratulations!!
This year has been a real big year for babies in our family. First my 2nd Cousin Deserae had her Daughter Ava on May 19th. This is a picture of 5 generations, a first for our family.

Deserae (to the left) and her Great Grandma Ruth (my Grandma) holding Ava, her Great Great Granddaughter Ava, her Mom Lisa (my Cousin), and her Grandma Janet (my Aunt)

And on Aug 21st my other Cousin’s Mike & Lucie had their first baby Gregory as well this year. I know you can’t really see his face but boy is he a cutie pie!! He looks just like his Daddy!! Ok well I should be going now, just wanted to do some more baby bragging.

P.S. - I nope nobody kills me for putting up their pictures. But considering they are on Facebook, I figure they are fair game. (Luv ya!! hehehe)

Welcome to my Blog

Where to start.... well I guess with an introduction.
My name is Nadine I’m 27 (and holding might I add),
My Husbands name is Richard, and currently our only baby is our English Bulldog Chloe, but I can’t wait to add some more, babies that is, preferably non-furry ones.

Now that I'm talking about babies, my Sister Brooke and her Husband Theo are expecting their first child in 8 weeks. Our whole family is of course very excited, and can't wait for Georgia to be here.
(Brooke I hope you don't mind you being talked about in my Blog, but get use to it. We spend enough time together that you are going to mentioned alot. Hahaha)
Well that about wraps up my first blog. Tomorrow is Friday, and we are going camping for our Thanksgiving Long Weekend. So more about that when I return.
